Sparta, New Jersey based Myles Marcus releases his latest single “Haunting Me” in 2012. “Haunting Me” features the production virtuoso of one Roy Hamilton III (RH3). Over the past few years, Marcus has received numerous local awards and praise for his singing and live performances.
“Haunting Me” (4:23) starts off with methodical musical build against a passionate vocal groove eventually lending itself to infectious beat and well placed bass driven groove. The single itself is an impressive blend of Dance Pop, Power Pop and even a dash of and Techno and Chill. The production touches and sampling is clearly above the bar. You will also notice impressive keyboard and synthesizer accents, sizzling guitar solos, along the way with impressive sonic vocal touches and catchy sound effects layered within the music. The rap segment is hot to the touch and provides an effective break in the action and set up the finale chorus extremely well. The actual songwriting makes the connection and provides much in the way of musical variety and emotion. It’s fair to say “Haunting Me” is a bit winded overall when compared to other short and sweet singles. Although I like the passionate vibe from Marcus this one will go down as a melancholy, stark musical single. Marcus showcases an impressive look, baritone, vibrato and a appealing musical personality. If this kid can dance well that makes him even more dangerous. These are all key ingredients when establishing a fanbase.
From start to finish this is a grand slam Single from Myles Marcus. At the end of the day it's very melodic, passionate and provide a marketable shapshot of a rising artist from New Jersey. Haunting Me is consistent, well-crafted and a polished sounding musical production. My hats off to the production expertise of mastermind RH3 – clearly the defining factor. No doubt this single will catch fire this Summer.
