SINGLE REVIEW:

New York based Singer/Songwriter Mike Lembo releases his latest single entitled "Can’t Come Down” in 2012. This particular single was produced by Grammy nominated Mike Rizzo and Steve "Mr. Mig' Migliore. Influences include  Kanye West, Jay Z, Wu Tang, Tribe Called Quest, Eminem and most recently B.O.B. and Drake. Lembo just to name a few.

The single wastes no time and quickly takes off with its infectious beat, against well placed bass driven groove and methodical vocal build featuring Lembo. The single itself is an impressive blend of Dance Pop, Power Pop and even a dash of and Techno and Trance. What I like the most about this single is its overall marketability as it touches many musical genera’s without trying to hard. The production touches and sampling is clearly above the bar. You will also notice impressive keyboard and synthesizer accents along the way with impressive sonic vocal touches and catchy sound effects. The vocal reinforcements mix up the single well providing a vocal delivery that has allot of variety. The transition into the hooky chorus is flawless. Now turning our attention over to Lembo his vocal delivery hits hard and holds nothing back. The lyrics have a bit of urban swagger you would expect from a single of this caliber. The actual songwriting is brilliant and provides a lot of musical variety and emotion.

It’s fair to say Lembo doesn’t possess a gold standard vocal ability. This can be executed regardless of the style of music and regardless of the piece of music I like the attitude and reckless abandonment you get from him Lembo but it’s fair to say he plays it safe throughout avoiding any serious risks that would showcase a world class vocal ability.

From start to finish this latest release from Mike Lembo is an impressive snapshot of music. At the end of the day it packs a powerful punch, it has attitude and lyrics that make the case. The song is consistent, well-crafted, melodic and entertaining. The production strokes of this song are effective. No doubt this single will catch some attention in 2012.
