Jupiter In Velvet is a SuperNova of passion exploding into your soul... It is music for the new millennium, an energy of two worlds, creating music for one time... Now! Jupiter In Velvet is quite unlike anything you've heard... yet something you've always felt. It is an explosion of emotion in an ocean of indifference. Jupiter In Velvet is an assimilation of where we've been and who we are, compressed, sifted and projected forward to where we can go and who we can be. We have all sprung forth from the same source and to that beginning we shall all find our destination. Jupiter In Velvet is Love and color, it is an energy to help take you to that place where we all want to be…
The CD takes off nicely with "Jupiter in Velvet” a grinding guitar groove meshed against driving rock rhythm, emotionally charged vocal delivery and in your face vocal delivery. Track 2 “Love is on my Side” serves up another solid low end groove, with methodical musical build, melodic musical flow coupled with hooky vocal accents and heartfelt vocal intensity. Track 3 my personal favorite “So How Could They Know” packs a powerful punch with its thought provoking lyrical content, pulsating rock groove meshed with an infectious rock melody that flows and ebbs its way through to emotional fruition. As the CD unfolds I can hear many musical influences reminiscent of Green Day, The Toadies, The Cars and even The Cult. Right from the start you will notice “Jupiter n Velvet” feel quite comfortable just letting it all hang out musically, not holding anything back. Make no mistake - this is well crafted melodic Rock with a slight Punk aftertaste. The overall musical vibe has a nice melodic feel to it. The guitar playing is rock solid across the board with impressive soaring guitar licks and a few mesmerizing solos to boot. Equally as impressive is thick as a brick rhythm section. Jupiter In Velvet delivers rock solid vocal timber and is full of passion and recklessness abandon. The musicianship has everything you would expect from a standard 4 piece punk-rock band. I also didn’t fail to notice few solid vocal harmonies layered along the way either. The songs themselves are consistent musical experiences, each one possessing unique personality, flair and signature groove. All engineering aspects (Recording, Mixing, Mastering) check out fine. The CD possesses crystal clear high end clarity and solid low end punch and frequency. From heartfelt “Just one Day” to infectious “Beautiful Game” to mesmerizing to grooving “Rock & Roll Girl” to melodic Monkey see Monkey Do” to rocking “Comet Come on” this CD has something for just about everyone. The CD ends with Track 10 “Stand on Your Own” perfect finale statement for a CD of this caliber.
Overall this CD is a bit shot with it's 10 song line-up. Perhaps 2-3 more songs are needed to really make it a fully loaded experience thus hitting it out of the park.
In close Screaming the Love Behind the Stars by "Jupiter n Velvet" is a consistent musical production from start to finish. It’s strong suit – its polished rock feel, hooky grooves and amazing songs. If Jupiter In Velvet have a slam dunk live presentation that would be a very deadly combination no doubt. Beware this CD packs a consistent yet powerful punch dishing out one solid song after the next like a 1-2 punch. The songs are extremely melodic, passionate and powerful – and will no doubt get your adrenalin pumping, and your heart beating.
