Instead they sell your music directly to the consumer, shipping it from their  warehouse. Besides selling CD's on their site, musical downloads are also available, and they can deliver your music to other download retailers, such as (iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, and many more) if you request it. Once your music is sold CD Baby pays the artist right away, and CD Baby keeps 9% of your earnings. One important thing to note: in a regular record, or distribution deal, musicians only make $1-$2 per album, if they’re ever lucky enough to get paid by their label at all. When selling through CD Baby, musicians make $6-$12 per album and get paid weekly.
